Rihanna Braves the NYC Rain, Readies for Court - June 19th, 2009

Not letting a little rainy weather ruin her fierce style, Rihanna was spotted making her way back to her hotel in New York City on Thursday evening (June 18).

Wearing a leopard print coat and high boots to keep dry, the Barbadian beauty eased her way past paparazzi following the day’s Big Apple outing.

In related news, it was announced earlier today that the details regarding the Rihanna/Chris Brown assault case will not be broadcast to a television audience.

According to the LA Times, “a judge has denied media requests for cameras in the courtroom for Monday’s preliminary hearing – although sketch artists will be permitted to draw the proceeding.”

Miley Cyrus Keeps Plugging Away on “The Last Song”

Back out for another day of filming, Miley Cyrus was hard at work on the set of her new film “The Last Song” on Tybee Island, Georgia on Thursday (June 18).

The “Hannah Montana” darling shared an embrace with co-star Liam Hemsworth as the cameras rolled, chatting with her mom on the beach during breaks in the action.

Meanwhile, the locals of Tybee Island are happy to have Miss Cyrus staying in tehir community – hoping that her presence will help bring in the bucks.

“It’s going to be good for us,” said Gloria Magune, a local motel owner. “Even Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil is still bringing us business.”

Concurring, Tom Parris, a location manager, adds, “People still come to see where Forrest Gump sat on the bench. They’re going to come see where Miley Cyrus sat on the pier. They’re going to come see where Miley Cyrus sat on the beach.”

Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato Team Up in Toronto

Teaming up on the red carpet, Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez thrilled their young fans in Toronto at the premiere of the Disney TV movie “Princess Protection Program” on Thursday evening (June 18).

Playfully posing side-by-side after greeting a massive crowd of gathered fans, the two young stars were also joined by Demi’s half-sister, “Desperate Housewives” star Madison De La Garza.

Surely excited about the night’s festivities, Miss Lovato tweeted: “Ahhh headed to the PPP premier!!! Sooo excited!!! Jammin’ to I Gotta Feeling – Black Eyed Peas!”

As for the new TV movie, which was filmed in Puerto Rico, Miss Gomez recently revealed that Disney tried to separate Demi and herself at night by putting them in different buildings – doing their best to keep their two young actresses well rested.

Selena explains, “They knew we would never get any work done because we’d spend the night and we’d stay up late and talk. That didn’t work — I ended up living in her room half the time.”

Be sure to tune into the Disney Channel when “Princess Protection program” debuts on June 26th, with the DVD version called “Princess Protection Program: Royal BFF Extended Edition” hitting store shelves on June 30th.
