Top 10 Goals of the Week
The past seven days have again witnessed some sublime football, but on the flipside there has also been several head-in-the-hands moments as we continue to struggle to believe that some people get a salary for playing football.
Step forward the defender who struggles to defend, Wigan’s Titus Bramble, who suffered yet another bout of cantdefenditous to allow Ishmael Miller to score on Saturday. Equally as bad was Sunderland’s Danny Collins effort at making contact with the ball, which he failed to do, allowing Johan Elmander to bag the third at the “Stadium of Plight” on Saturday.
However the award for the worst defending of the week goes to the entire Racing Santander defence, who managed to collectively fall apart in a manner which would be unacceptable in playground football, to gift Mateja Kezman the opener in their UEFA Cup match.
But enough with the negatives, as a host of super strikes hit the back of the net in the last seven days. Unstoppable free-kicks (goals 2, 3, 4) were commonplace across Europe, while the net-busting goals were provided by goals 1, 5 and 8.
As always, all we ask is that you sit back and enjoy!
