Tina Fey’s husband reveals secret behind her facial scar
Apparently “30 Rock” star Tina Fey has a scar on her face that she would rather not discus. The NY Post classically calls it the “Fey-mous” mark. The former Saturday Night Live cast member is featured on the January 2009 cover of Vanity Fair. In typical humor the sexy nerd comedian tells the mag how a tweezer, cream rinse, a diet, and a Teutonic will transformed a mousy brain into a brainy glamour-puss. But also in the same interview Fey’s husband Jeff Richmond reveals the secret behind the scar on her left cheek. He says a stranger slashed Fey’s face when she was 5 years old. He says the incident occurred in the front yard of her house.
Says Richmond: “That scar was fascinating to me. This is somebody who, no matter what it was, has gone through something. And I think it really informs the way she thinks about her life.”
Fey says talking about the attack would seem like exploiting it.
Says Fey: “It’s really almost like I’m able to forget about it, until I was on-camera, and it became a thing of `Oh, I guess we should use this side’ or whatever. Everybody’s got a better side.”

On her physical flaws: “I don’t like my feet. I’m not crazy about anybody’s feet. But I have flat feet.”
On her Republican parents: “When I was 18 and registering to vote, my mom’s only instruction was ‘You just go in and pull the big Republican lever.’ That’s my welcome to adulthood. She’s like, ‘No, don’t even read it. Just pull the Republican lever.’”
