“American Idol” winner Kris Allen is set to take part in another contest, it’s just this time he won’t have to worry about winning or losing.
Sunday before Game 2 of the NBA finals on ABC, Allen is scheduled to belt out the national anthem. As per tradition, every year the “American Idol” winner has participated in singing for the basketball championship series. (The only Idol who did not take part in this tradition was Fantasia Barrino.)
This will be the first time that Allen has performed the national anthem in public. About his upcoming performance he says, “I just want to get through it and not make any mistakes.”
The Los Angeles Lakers have a 1-0 lead over the Orlando Magic so far in the competition.
