Rumor has it that Lark is returning to the screen, only this time the big screen. In a film set to be released around August 2011, Lark is said to be in talks to portray Whitney Houston in the upcoming biography. Another role she might have, if Jimmy Fallon has his way, is reprising Lisa Turtle in a “Saved By the Bell” reunion episode. Dennis Haskins and the new host of “Late Night” even started a petition to bring the cast back together.
As a biography, Lark Voorhies was born on March 25, 1974 in Nashville, Tennessee so her age is 35. Growing up in Pasadena, California, Lark studied dance and dreamed of being a ballerina. She also took vocal lessons and gymnastics classes.
Though she landed her first role at the age of 2, she held off on really acting until 11. At 14, Lark nabbed the role of Lisa on the Saturday morning show, “Good Morning, Miss Bliss”, and continued on into the sequel, “Saved By the Bell”. Since then she has made a variety of guest appearances on various television shows, and even carried a movie or two.
While pursuing an acting career, Lark also worked on her singing. She was the lead singer of Third Degree and later launched a solo career. Now she owns a production company and spends time writing screenplays.
Lark married Miguel Coleman on March 6, 1996. Unfortunately, the couple divorced eight years later. Earlier in the ’90s she dated Mark Paul Gosselaar, and was even engaged to Martin Lawrence, that is until he broke it off live on Arsenio Hall. Now Lark is married to Andy Prince; they have one child together.
In 2006, Lark sued the National Enquirer for libel and invasion of privacy after they ran an article accusing her of being addicted to cocaine. They said she was admitted to a hospital after a nervous breakdown and remained to treat the drug addiction. Lark denied everything, and eventually a settlement was reached.
